In the early nineteenth century man named John Ralston (Steve Bacic) has suffered the death of his lovely wife, and he wants to find an occult means of returning her to life. He hears of the ancient necromancer tale about a young doctor by the name of Ernst Haekel (Derek Cecil) who had a similar desire, and therein hangs a cautionary tale. Haeckel tied his fortunes to a necromancer by the name of Professor Montesquino (Jon Polito) who agrees to help restore his wife to life. On his journey to accomplish this, Haekel stops near a Necropolis, but is encouraged to stay with old Mr. Wolfram (Tom McBeath) and his young beautiful wife Elise (Leela Savasta) because the cemetery is not safe. Ralston learns the frightful truth of the anecdote through the fate of Haekel.
