The vengeful Candyman (Tony Todd), a murdered man formerly known as Daniel Robitaille, is now killing people in New Orleans, around the time of Mardi Gras. He still shows up if people say his name five times in a row while looking in a mirror. The woman he wants to kill is a teacher, Annie Tarrant (Kelly Rowan), whose dad had been killed by the Candyman, but her brother was blamed for it. She is not afraid to repeat Candyman’s name to show her pupils that she is not afraid of the legend. Also, she does not realize at first that her family used to own a plantation and that they were connected to the murder of Robitaille years earlier.
