Ollie Trinkie (Ben Affleck) seems to have the perfect life. He enjoys his work as a high-powered music executive, has a giant office and view of the New York skyline, a beautiful wife (Jennifer Lopez), and a beautiful apartment. Tragedy strikes and threads unravel leaving a widower civil servant living with his father and working for New Jersey. Ollie is given a chance to reclaim pieces of his past, but his now school-age daughter is reluctant to leave the only life she has known. Will Smith (playing himself), an elementary-school version of "Sweeney Todd," and a new friend/potential love interest/video store Clerk help Ollie decide which way his future will move.
