The main character, Daniella, is orphaned and thrust into the care of a step mother who is set upon furthering her own daughters' future at her stepdaughter's expense. The would-be Prince Charming witnesses an act of kindness by the fiercely loyal and spirited Daniella, who gives him a different name rather than out herself.
