Teenager Terri Griffith (Joyce Hyser) wants a career as a journalist, but her high school bypasses her in favor of the boys. In “Just One of the Guys,” she makes a drastic change while her parents are out of town. Angrily, she decides to enter another high school disguised as a boy to see what happens there. With the help of her younger brother Buddy (Billy Jacoby), she packs a rolled sock into her pants and cuts her hair. Buddy gives advice on what it is to be a teenage boy. At the new school, now as Terry, a boy, she encounters boy-crazy girls, a bully (William Zabka) who threatens him/her, and a boy (Clayton Rohner) she falls for but to whom she cannot show her love. Can Terri pull off her ruse and win a journalism contest as a boy? Terri learns some comic lessons.
