Gabe Walker (Sylvester Stallone) is a rescue climber who loses his cool after a terrible accident ends in the death of his friend and fellow climber's girlfriend. Some time later he is called upon to make another rescue attempt, but it takes a lot of convincing by his girlfriend Jessie (Janine Turner) before he consents to help. Going along with him is his now ex-friend Hal Tucker (Michael Rooker) who is still angry at the death of his girlfriend. The two quickly realize that this is no ordinary rescue however, when the rescue party takes them prisoner. Eric Qualen (John Lithgow) the head of the gang, has recently completed a daring heist of over $100 million in US Treasury funds, but the group had a disagreement leading to the loss of the cases of money and the plane crash. Gabe and his friends undergo a grueling test to try and outwit and outlast the thieves in this intense action movie.
