Highberger House is an artistic inspiration for unpublished writers, like Rob Hanisey (Tyron Leitso) who is delighted for the accommodations, as long as he can work undisturbed. Unfortunately, the ghost of a crying woman named Valerie (Clare Grant) also inhabits the space and takes a shine to Rob. He tries to figure out her story and why she died. He imagines scenarios as a good writer might, but Valerie suffers torment by a Beast (Tony Todd) living in the house. Rob also can consult an older writer named Everett Neely (Christopher Lloyd) who has taken up residence in the hotel and may know more than he tells.
